To emphasize the bold and vibrant clothing brand, the owner of Mason Mayes desired a store that was white and pure to serve as a unique backdrop for her merchandise. Inspiration took place from the Greek Islands to provide white resort overtones, echoing arches, and organic softened edges that contrast with the vivid and colorful clothing and merchandise.
The collaborative work between architect, boutique owner, display stylist, and artist/designer brought the vision to reality. Designing a space for this highly curated retail shop, focus was placed on key strategies to impact customer experience. Breaking the large interior shell into different zones, creating an organized grouping of displays or “intimate spaces”, meandering customer flow between displays, and essential lighting creates a welcoming atmosphere that draws attention to specific areas or promotions. The program includes flexibility for small shop events with a coffee bar, seating at the fitting room area and packaging area for online orders.
